Sunday @ OGNGa

Another Crossfit workout. Felt good to get some soreness out but my endurance level is just plain disheartening. Had a good little workout partner today. I'm pretty sure she was sandbaggin' on squats though.

Five rounds for time of:
5 Back squats
10 GHD sit-ups

Craig: 9:59 @ 255# squat
Hannah: 6:04 @ 70# squat, regular sit-ups




Saturday @ OGNGa

Yesterday I did the "Tabata This!" workout on www.crossfit.com. I didn't have a rowing machine, so I subbed in sumo-deadlift high pulls with a 45# barbell. Here is what a tabata is:

"The Tabata interval is 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest for 8 intervals. Tabata score is the least number of reps performed in any of the eight intervals."

Here is my score. I feel like a girly man.

Tabata SDHP - 10 reps
Rest 1 minute
Tabata Squat - 10 reps
Rest 1 minute
Tabata Pull-up - 1 rep
Rest 1 minute
Tabata Push-up - 4 reps
Rest 1 minute
Tabata Sit-up - 6 reps

A Shift in Training Goals

This weekend, I will be transitioning out of the Starting Strength program and into something Crossfit-esque. I'm running a Tough Mudder the first weekend of April with some dudes in Ellijay, so I figured I had better start some endurance training or I might die/embarrass myself.

I'll keep you guys posted on what I'm up to on here. I should be installing a pull up bar in the next couple of weeks, which I'm muy excite about. I will also continue to feed my quads/hamstrings a healthy dose of squats/deads. I will be quick to boast of any new PR's along the way.

I went unconventional this weekend and did a 12 mile mountain bike ride. On Amadahy trail. My quads looked like they had a case of elephantiasis when I finished. Good day. Planning to get back on the weights tomorrow evening.

OG Sunday - "I like tuutles"

Spirits were high tonight at the OG; a marked change from the ball busting bitch fest that was our last workout.  Excellent bro time under the bar.

Solid numbers all around on squats and cleans.  Presses wallowed in mediocrity though.

James-

Squat: 3x5x300, with some gentle, helpful breast cupping from v-horst on a couple reps
Press: 3x5x135 (with HEAVY spotting.  really more like a push jerk than a press, too. he really had to dip drive the hips to get it overhead)
Clean: 5x3x225

Horst-

Squat: 1x5x345, 1x4x365, 1x5x375 (solid)
Press: 3x5x155

Wednesday @ OGNGa

Snuck in a grind at home during lunch yesterday.

Squats 3x5 @ 305# (help on the final 2 reps)
Bench 2x5 @ 205# 1x5 @ 225#
Deads 1x5 @ 325#

I seem to have plateaued at 305 on squats for now. Any suggestions? Roids maybe?

OG Sunday

Mixed results this Sun at the OG.  Quads were still trashed from OG Thurs and hiking, so we went a bit off program.  I'll let 'horst and willy j post their stats.  Quads still wrecked today so tonight's lifting will be light as well (i need fresh legs for the 12" of powerder forecast for Lake Tahoe Thursday)

OG Back in Action, Makin' Bacon Pancakes

tonight i knocked the dust off the ole weights, put my vagina in a drawer, and re-installed my balls in preparation for a long overdue 'horst/james/root grind session.  still took it a bit easy, given the 2.5 week poon hiatus i am returning from

i'll let them post their weights, as i didn't pay any attention to what was going on. i was too distracted by my elevated estrogen count beginning to drop a bit once i finally got back under the bar.

rooter:

squat 3x5x255
bench 3x5x175
dead 1x5x325, 1x4x345

we followed up with beers and late dinner at atkins, very enjoyable.

when i got home, i asked martin, "where do quads come from". he told me, "well, when a mommy quad and a daddy quad love each other very much...."
